WJCT Public Broadcasting and Community First Credit Union of Florida Host Fourth Annual TEACH Conference

(Jacksonville, FL, September 8, 2015); The fourth annual TEACH Conference, hosted by WJCT Public Broadcasting and Community First Credit Union of Florida, takes place at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront on September 12 , 2015. The one day conference for teachers features national keynote speakers, breakout sessions on a variety of educational topics, educational resources for teachers, opportunities to meet WJCT radio hosts, photos with the PBS Kids characters and more!

This year’s morning keynote speaker is Mary Ehrenworth, Deputy Director at the Teachers College of Reading and Writing Project. She is the co-author and author of over a dozen books, including most recently the national best-selling book in education, Pathways to the Common Core, as well as The Power of Grammar, plus many volumes co-authored with Lucy Calkins in the Units of Study in Teaching Reading and Units of Study in Teaching Writing Grade by Grade.

The afternoon keynote speaker is Drew Dudley, Founder & Chief of Catalyst Nuance Leadership, Inc., who shares his “lollipop moments”—when something you’ve done has made someone else’s life fundamentally better. As the founder and director of one of the largest leadership development programs in North America, he embraces the idea that leadership can’t really be taught, only learned—an idea that has resonated with thousands of people over the years. Leadership, he explains, should be about how many lollipop moments you can acknowledge and share every day.
