WJCT Public Broadcasting Partners with Jacksonville Media Outlets for City’s Mayoral Debate Coverage

(Jacksonville, FL, February 24, 2015); WJCT Public Broadcasting is partnering with First Coast News and the Florida Times-Union to present an on-air debate between mayoral candidates on March 12 at WJCT Studios. This debate will offer First Coast citizens an in-depth view of the major candidates and where they stand on issues such as pensions, taxes, public health and safety, downtown development, and the city’s Human Rights Ordinance. The debate will broadcast live from 7pm through 8pm on WJCT-TV, 89.9FM WJCT Public Radio and WJXX ABC 25 and will be streamed live on wjctnews.org, firstcoastnews.com and jacksonville.com.

The Jacksonville 2015 debate will be hosted by WJCT First Coast Connect’s Melissa Ross. The panel of journalists asking questions of the candidates includes First Coast News anchor and political reporter Shannon Ogden and Florida Times-Union reporters Rhema Thompson and David Bauerlein. The debate between the major mayoral candidates will follow a formal debate format with a podium for each candidate.
