One night. One phone. One crossed line.
Bedridden and alone in her Manhattan apartment, Leona Stevenson (Barbara Stanwyck, Oscar-nominated for Best Actress) picks up the phone and overhears two men plotting a murder. As night falls and her calls go unanswered, she pieces together who the victim is, and the answer is closer than she thinks. Burt Lancaster co-stars as her husband, Henry. Adapted by Lucille Fletcher from her own radio play, the film uses flashbacks and builds to one of Hollywood’s most chilling endings.
