Sam is a teenager so desperate to feel like a regular kid that he goes to prom knowing the lights will trigger a seizure. Written and directed by Miles Levin, who has epilepsy himself, Under the Lights stars Pearce Joza alongside Lake Bell, Nick Offerman, Randall Park, and Mark Duplass. The film grew out of a short film that sparked a worldwide movement to end epilepsy stigma.
After the advance screening of Under the Lights, Dr. Joe Servin, host of WJCT’s What Health Got To Do With It?, will lead a conversation with Levin about the story, the science, and the stigma behind it.
