Age of Audio: A Screening & Discussion

Join WJCT Public Media and Jax Podcasters United Group for a special community screening of the acclaimed podcast documentary, Age of Audio, followed by a panel discussion with documentary director Shaun Colon and local experts.

Age of Audio offers a deep dive into the history and evolution of the podcasting industry. It explores the medium’s wild rise from basement mics to billion-dollar deals, chronicling how audio storytelling experienced a remarkable resurgence in the 21st century. The film explores the rise of podcasting through intimate conversations with industry pioneers, including Marc Maron, Ira Glass, and Kevin Smith. The documentary also centers on the journey of indie podcaster and producer Ronald Young Jr.

Following the 80-minute documentary, attendees can join an exclusive Q&A session and panel discussion. Director Shaun Michael Colón (A Fat Wreck, Ice Cream Social) will join local podcasters and experts for a discussion on making the documentary and navigating the “age of audio” as a modern creator.
