  • Development Coordinator

    Assist Manager Development Services in day to day operations of Development Services Department; coordinate premium procurement and fulfillment for pledge drives; provide customer service to donors resolving any issues and requests, schedule and coordinate volunteers for pledge drives, mailings etc., maintain all aspects of the on-line store.

    Qualifications:

    • H.S. diploma &/or equivalent; prefer A.A. degree;
    • Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Office – Excel and Word; previous experience using or knowledge of Raisers Edge preferred;
    • 1+ years of proven performance success in a database oriented customer service position;
    • Good research skills and knowledge of research techniques;
    • Detail oriented; accuracy with numbers and figures;
    • Good reasoning and analytic skills;
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills;
    • Good problem solving skills;
    • Clear ability to multitask;
    • Ability to lift, open and unpack shipping boxes – up to 25 pounds;
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule; night day, weekends and Overtime;

  • Manager Technology & Operations

    Position is a working Manager/Chief Engineer who will work with the VP of Content & Operations to provide input for station-wide planning, evaluation, acquisition, installation and maintenance of materials and resources which support broadcast and non-broadcast operations. Position will also have oversight of general building operations to include the studio and I.T.

    Qualifications:

    • AS Degree &/or high school diploma and equivalent related technical (broadcast) experience. Strongly prefer BS or EE degree;
    • (5) years of directly related experience, (1) of which will have been in a management capacity including staff oversight and planning & budgeting. Experience dealing with federal regulations governing television and radio broadcasting preferred;
    • Experience working in a broadcast environment. Must possess understanding of technology-based broadcast systems, which could include high power transmitters and network
      infrastructure;
    • A high level of personal integrity reflected in oral and written communication, decision making and a commitment to customer service.
    • A keen understanding of business needs, market trends, and the latest broadcasting technology;
    • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work under pressure with the capacity to effectively manage complex projects, budgets and meet or exceed deadlines;
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate or articulate technical challenges to non-technical staff;
    • Working knowledge of FCC rules and regulations;
    • Flexibility to oversee as well as personally meet operational needs;
    • Solid problem solving abilities to include contingency planning skills,
    • Ability to create a collaborative team environment,
    • Must be willing to be a part of the emergency on-call rotation (duty phone) which will include nights and weekends.

  • Broadcast Systems Engineer - JCT Services

    Housed in our newly established Network Operations Center, incumbent will support, troubleshoot, and maintain the systems that manage JCT Services LLC.’s digital assets and distribute broadcast content over various platforms.

    We seek experienced candidates only: High School Diploma &/or equivalent work experience; Associates degree (prefer Bachelors), with a minimum of 3+ years relevant broadcast experience in a fast-paced environment.

    Qualifications:

    • Experience in master control operations an absolute must – traffic a big plus
    • Strong ATSC encoding, transport stream, and air path experience (required, Thomson Video Networks experience a strong plus)
    • Strong master control automation ingest, playout, and automation experience (required, Miranda specific experience a strong plus)
    • Strong IP networking background, including demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve ambiguous networking issues (strongly preferred)
    • Working understanding of IT process building and troubleshooting standards (ITIL a plus)
    • Mid to advanced level computing skills, base understanding of hardware, exposure to multiple operating systems (CompTIA A+ or comparable certifications/training a plus)
    • Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize while working under tight deadlines
    • Familiarity with all appropriate broadcast test equipment and its use
    • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems quickly
    • A “can-do” customer service attitude; previous experience working with clients at the highest levels of television stations
    • Proven ability to work independently or as a member of a team
    • Ability to lift and install equipment up to 50 lbs
    • SBE certification preferred or the ability and desire to earn SBE certification within one year of hire
    • Cisco certifications are a big plus

    This opening is for an evening shift position. Candidate must be willing to work nights and some weekend shifts with the ability to move into an alternate shift if needed, as well as overtime & holidays.

  • On-Call Production Crew

    We are looking for individuals who would like to be a part of our on-call crew pool which assists with studio productions and other WJCT events and activities. If you have experience with:

    • camera operation and other television equipment such as CG, prompter;
    • studio production set-up , scenery construction and maintenance;
    • lighting, working as an audio assistant;
    • general facilities support (non-production);
    • working flexible schedules to include nights and weekends.

  • Internships at WJCT

    WJCT provides internship opportunities during which students are provided a learning environment with “real life” work experience in support of their educational and personal goals.

    Typical requirements for consideration include:

    • Be at least 18 years of age;
    • Be enrolled in or sponsored by an accredited college or university;
    • Matriculated to the junior years by the start of the internship period;
