WJCT and VyStar Credit Union are honoring the memory of Fred Rogers with the annual Mister Rogers Neighborhood Sweater Drive.

The drive runs through November 28th and accepts new and gently used sweaters, jackets and blankets. Contributions may be dropped at WJCT, all VyStar Credit Union locations and Two Men & A Truck on Beach Blvd.

Contributions will be donated to St. Vincent’s Mobile Outreach Ministry, the Clara White Mission and St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.

WJCT Annual Reading Celebration – Share A Story, May 30th, 10am-1:00pm

WJCT will collaborate with the Duval County Public Schools, the Jacksonville Public Library and Aramark to host the 7th Annual Reading Celebration. Share a Story is part of a national PBS Kids campaign designed to demonstrate how any caring adult, regardless of wealth, education or literacy level, can help raise a child’s reading achievement.

Authors, artists and other community members will share stories with adults and children of all ages. The event will recognize the children who have accomplished the challenge of reading 25 books or more during the school year, and will launch the Library’s summer reading program.
