Join the WJCT Public Media Community Advisory Board

WJCT Public Media is currently searching for new members to join our Community Advisory Board (CAB) for the next fiscal year beginning October 1, 2023.

The WJCT Public Media Community Advisory Board serves as a bridge between the public media station and the community it serves, providing an essential forum for dialogue, collaboration, and community engagement. The CAB's primary goal is to ensure that WJCT's programming, outreach, and engagement efforts align with the needs and interests of the community it serves.

The WJCT Public Media Community Advisory Board (CAB) is a group of community members who volunteer their time and expertise to advise and provide feedback to the public media organization serving Jacksonville, FL, and the surrounding designated market area (DMA), including Baker, Clay, Columbia, Duval, Nassau, Putnam, St. Johns, and Union counties in Florida and Brantley, Camden, Charlton, Glynn, Pierce, and Ware counties in Georgia.

The CAB works closely with the station's management team and staff to provide valuable feedback on current programming, identify potential gaps in coverage, and suggest new ideas for content and community engagement initiatives. Additionally, the CAB helps WJCT build and maintain strong relationships with its audience, stakeholders, and partners through outreach and advocacy efforts. Among its other roles, the CAB is a group of ambassadors for WJCT Public Media in the community.

As a non-profit organization dedicated to providing informative and educational programming to our community, we believe that having a diverse and engaged CAB is essential to ensuring that we continue to meet the needs and interests of our viewers and listeners. By providing diverse perspectives and insights, the CAB helps ensure that WJCT's content is reflective of the diverse voices and experiences within the Jacksonville community and its surrounding counties.

The WJCT Public Media Community Advisory Board meets four times per year for one hour. Applications for the Community Advisory Board of WJCT Public Media will be open until midnight April 28, 2023. The vetting process will take place in May. Potential candidates will be notified of their selection by the end of July.
