Timothy Johnson Joins WJCT as Morning Edition Host

(Jacksonville, FL, January 19, 2011); WJCT is pleased to announce that Timothy Johnson is joining the station as Morning Edition Host, effective Monday, January 24. His duties will include providing local news, weather and traffic during NPR’s Morning Edition, which airs weekdays from 5-9 a.m. on 89.9 WJCT-FM, as well as assisting with production of WJCT’s popular call-in radio program, First Coast Connect. Before assuming his duties, Johnson will be introduced to First Coast community members on First Coast Connect during a live interview with host Melissa Ross on Friday, January 21 at 9 a.m.

A Chicago native, Johnson joins WJCT with broadcast experience at radio stations in Georgia, Tennessee and Pensacola. His broadcast career includes prior service at WJCT, both in radio and in broadcast operations. He has served in the U.S. Navy, and he recently completed eight years of active duty with the U.S. Coast Guard. Johnson holds a degree in communications from the University of West Florida.
