  • Web & Graphic Designer

    The Web & Graphic Designer plays the lead role in supporting WJCT’s need for graphics elements and web site design/maintenance. This will include the design and creation of graphic packages for a variety of needs (print, on-air, web), along with development, design and production of content for the WJCT web site. Additionally the Multimedia Producer will work directly with other staff members in the development of station e-mail campaigns, e-newsletters, and other media platforms

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media, Web Design or related field preferred; minimum Associate of Science degree in same with 2-3 years relevant and progressive professional experience.

    Qualifications

    • Superior oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with a collaborative and proactive attitude.
    • Works well both independently and in a team environment with the ability to prioritize projects and manage time wisely sometimes with competing deadlines.
    • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and an ability to meet multiple competing deadlines, supervisors and challenges.
    • Two+ years’ experience designing and developing Web sites and applications.
    • Expert level with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and Illustrator.
    • Experienced in maintaining internet content including text editing and graphic design for Web pages and Web forms.
    • Experience with Web applications and coding clean HTML and CSS from scratch (Experience with JavaScript, PHP and MySQL a plus,
    •  Experience with a variety of frameworks and content management systems preferred, especially WordPress.
    • Experience with web hosting, FTP (&/or SSH); DNS and server management a plus.
    • Experience with mobile app development a plus.
    • Must demonstrate initiative, forward thinking, the ability to conceptualize new and creative ideas, set and achieve goals, and learn and become proficient in new technologies as needed.
    • Thorough knowledge of design and principles of web layout.
  • Facilities Marketing Representative

    The Facilities Marketing Sales Representative is responsible for generating and achieving maximum profitability and growth by effectively marketing the WJCT facility and other production related revenue opportunities. Personally services existing clients and contacts and secures new business accounts/customers. In addition, manages building tenant’s relationship.

    Education

    • Prefer Bachelor’s degree in Sales/Marketing/Production &/or equivalent relevant work experience.

    Skills and Experience

    • Two+ (2) years outside sales experience;
    • Demonstrated sales and negotiation skills;
    • Demonstrated ability to achieve or exceed sales goals;
    • Must be client- and customer-centric;
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
    • Solid research skills;
    • Creative problem-solving skills;
    • Experience with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint;
    • Solid budgeting and financial knowledge to include billing and invoicing;
    • Strongly prefer knowledge of production to include technical capabilities of a studio environment, crew and satellite communications;
    • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Traffic Specialist

    The Traffic Specialist supports the Network Operations Center (NOC) by providing expertise necessary to prepare effective and accurate daily broadcast logs for multiple PBS television stations.

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or equivalency certificate; prefer A.A.
    • Minimum two years broadcast experience;
    • Training in television master control operation and/or traffic;
    • Experience using ProTrack a plus;
    • Must be able to prioritize tasks while working under tight deadlines;
    • Must be able to troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly;
    • Must be flexible in work availability (days, nights, weekends, overtime, holidays);
    • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills;
    • Must be able to perform job duties with minimal supervision;
    • Must have a “can-do” customer service attitude;
    • Prefer SBE certification or the ability to earn within 12 months of hire;
  • Station Operations Specialist

    This position will directly support the functions of the Continuity Coordinators and provide assistance in the completion of day to day station activities (ISDN, Tagging promos, etc.). This position will be overlapping various departments within the organization and will be expected to utilize numerous skill sets in the support of those departments.

    Typical Job Duties

    • Responsible for recording, editing, tagging, updating, storage and data management of underwriting, promos, and programming as well as uploading to  the NOC or other specified destinations;
    • Work in conjunction with Continuity Coordinators to ensure that locally produced shows are uploaded to the NOC or other specified destinations;
    • Review and verify broadcast logs prior to air;
    • Operate ProTrack database;
    • Investigate radio broadcast discrepancies and automation errors to determine possible causes and remedies;
    • Administer subscription requests to Content Depot for new radio programming and download content from various sources;
    • Provide support functions for Traffic & Continuity Coordinator;
    • Assist with the maintenance and monitoring of broadcast rights records;
    • Execute dub requests;
    • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) as set forth for position;
    • Operate studio for production / recording sessions as needed;
    • Comply with FCC regulations;
    • Operate Emergency Alert System and coordinate appropriate testing.

    Qualifications

    • High School diploma or equivalency certificate; Associates Degree preferred;

    • Minimum 1+ years’ experience in television, traffic experience a plus;
    • Must possess ability to multitask and prioritize while working under tight deadlines;

  • Content Distribution Specialist

    Housed in our newly established Network Operations Center incumbent will control, program and oversee the systems that manage JCT Services LLC.’s digital assets and distribute broadcast content over various platforms.

    *Entry Level Candidates: High School Diploma &/or equivalent, 1+ years’ experience with electronics – broadcast experience preferred.

    *Experienced Candidates: High School Diploma &/or equivalent, prefer Associates degree and 2+ years broadcast experience &/or Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years broadcast experience.

    For all positions, we seek candidates with:

    • Training in master control operations and traffic a big plus.
    • Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
    • Proven computer aptitude.
    • Clear ability to multitask and prioritize while working under tight deadlines.
    • An ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly.
    • A “can-do” customer service attitude; previous experience working with clients.
    • Proven ability to work independently or as a member of a team.

    Must be able to work a day, night, or weekend shift with the ability to move into an alternate shift if needed; as well as overtime & holidays.

    • SBE certification preferred or the ability to earn SBE certification within one year of hire.

  • On-Call Production Crew

    We are looking for individuals who would like to be a part of our on-call crew pool which assists with studio productions and other WJCT events and activities. If you have experience with:

    • camera operation and other television equipment such as CG, prompter;
    • studio production set-up , scenery construction and maintenance;
    • lighting, working as an audio assistant;
    • general facilities support (non-production);
    • working flexible schedules to include nights and weekends.
