Orange Park Man Found Mentally Unfit For Trial In 9-11 Bomb Plot Case

An Orange Park man accused of plotting a terrorist attack on a Sept.  11 memorial has been found mentally incompetent to stand trial, as the Associated Press first reported.

Twenty-year-old Joshua Goldberg was arrested in September after he allegedly sent plans for bombing a Missouri 9-11 ceremony to an FBI informant.

After evaluating Goldberg, a psychologist testified he’s not mentally fit for trial, and a judge agreed.

Arson Conviction For 11-Year-Old Jacksonville Boy Overturned

An 11-year-old Jacksonville boy’s arson conviction has been overturned. A state appeals court dismissed the incident as a child’s “poor judgment,” rather than a crime.

About a year ago, the unidentified 11-year-old was playing with a blowtorch in his backyard, and things got out of hand. When he used aerosol lubricant to light a fan on fire, flames spread and swallowed a nearby shed.
